Bleu Vermeer

is equal parts fiber nerd, tool tinkerer, and professional enabler of joyful chaos. They first stumbled into needle felting as a kid in the Vermont woods, where wool fluff, sticks, and boundless curiosity were the only supplies needed. From there, things escalated—knitting, crochet, spinning, tatting—because why master one craft when you can collect all of them like Pokémon?

Somewhere between projects, Bleu started making their own fiber arts tools. At first, it was to understand how tools shape the craft. Then they realized they could customize them for the ambitious ideas fermenting in their imagination. Now they can’t stop, partly because it’s deeply satisfying and partly because it’s just so much fun to make something that makes other things.

Bleu’s practice moves in a continuous loop: creating fiber art, designing tools, and chasing down facts they do not yet know. Each discovery feeds the next experiment, and teaching becomes a way to share those discoveries while sparking new questions from students—fuel for the next round of experiments. Whether making, building, or guiding others, Bleu is always chasing the joy in what happens when curiosity meets craft.
